"IMPACT" is our high school youth ministry and is held on Sundays from 6:05 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in room 8 of the first floor of St. Charles School (located at 80 W. 5th Street in Peru, Indiana). The letters of "IMPACT" stand for: Igniting and Motivating a Powerful Assembly of Catholic Teenagers! St. Charles' IMPACT is a group of Catholic youth that meet regularly to share their faith, stories, and life – to the degree that each teen feels comfortable. We have fun with games, food and laughter -- and come together as one body of Christ to share, to learn, to be challenged, and to build up our faith so that we can make an impact for Christ. We also attend Catholic youth events, like the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC). All are welcome to IMPACT! You don't have to be Catholic to attend. Why do we begin at 6:05 PM?? It's based on Deuteronomy 6:5 — “You shall love the Lord, your God, with your whole heart, and with your whole being, and with your whole strength.”
The main goal is to grow deeper in our relationship with God and one another as we continue to cultivate our understanding of who we are and who God is calling us to be. Snacks, fun activities, and more await high school teens on Sunday evenings. St. Charles youth are always welcome to bring friends and toss out new ideas for activities and topics. IMPACT is lead by Paul Staso and Amy Darland. For those high school teens who attend St. Charles, the sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated on odd numbered years. Spring of 2027 will be our next confirmation celebration. Registration for the next confirmation class will open in June 2026 with classes beginning in late August 2026 -- and those registering must have attended faith formation (8th grade) or high school youth group in the year immediately before registering. You can learn more on our Confirmation Page.
